Lori Haas Named to Virginia State Crime Commission

Richmond, VA (June 9, 2020) — This afternoon, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam named Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Virginia State Director Lori Haas to the Virginia State Crime Commission. Haas previously served on the Virginia State Crime Commission under former Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe. The purpose of the commission is to “study, report, and make recommendations on all areas of public safety and protection.”

Virginia State Director Lori Haas issued the following statement:

“Public safety is more important than ever right now, and we have an opportunity to reform the system and save lives. I am humbled and honored to serve on the Virginia State Crime Commission at the request of Governor Northam. At such a critical time, I am eager to contribute to the Virginia State Crime Commission’s mission of public safety for all and look forward to opportunities for reform in many areas.”
