Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Endorses Incumbents for Re-Election

Washington, DC (May 7, 2018)  — The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) is pleased to endorse Reps. Ami Bera, Salud Carbajal, and Stephanie Murphy. These three incumbents have been strong allies for gun violence prevention in Congress. We wholeheartedly endorse their reelection to the House of Representatives.

Rep. Ami Bera California 7th District

Rep. Bera is a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force. He has co-sponsored important pieces of gun violence prevention legislation such as universal background checks, a ban on assault weapons, and the House gun violence restraining order bill.

Rep. Salud Carbajal  California 24th District

Rep. Carbajal has been an ally and supporter of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.  He is the primary sponsor of H.R. 2598, the Gun Violence Restraining Order Act of 2018.

Carbajal is a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and has co-sponsored important legislation like the assault weapons ban, funding of gun violence research, and the Thompson-King background check bill.

Rep. Stephanie Murphy Florida 7th District

Rep. Murphy has been a strong ally of CSGV on Capitol Hill.  She sponsored H.R. 1478, the Gun Violence Research Act, continuously advocating for more funding for gun violence prevention research.

Murphy is a member of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and has co-sponsored important legislation like the assault weapons ban, a federal ban on bump stocks, and the Thompson-King background check bill.
