Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Endorses Kaine for Re-Election

Washington, DC (May 8, 2018) — The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence (CSGV) is proud to endorse our friend and ally Senator Kaine for reelection to the United States Senate.

Throughout his career as a public servant, Senator Kaine has been a tireless advocate for gun violence prevention. As Governor during the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting, Senator Kaine demonstrated incredible leadership and compassion in his engagement with survivors, families of victims, and community members in Blacksburg. Throughout his time in the Senate, he has fought for common-sense gun reform, including limiting the sale of semi-automatic weapons and high-capacity magazines, closing the gun show loophole, and expanding background checks. His work has been instrumental in pushing evidence-based legislation to prevent gun violence, and, once re-elected, he will continue to be an invaluable ally to the movement at the federal level.

Senator Kaine has repeatedly beaten the NRA in their own backyard. His strong stance against the gun lobby’s toxic agenda has and will continue to make him the gun violence prevention champion that Virginia deserves.
