COLUMBINE FATHER ADMONISHES SENATORS BENNET AND UDALL FOR FAILING TO PROTECT COLORADOANS

Denver, CO—Tom Mauser—the father of a son killed in the Columbine school gun massacre in 1999—expressed disappointment in a recent vote by Senators Michael Bennet and Mark Udall (both Democrats) in an advertisement published in Wednesday’s Denver Post and Boulder Camera. The Senators both voted in favor of the Thune Concealed Carry Amendment in Washington last week, a measure that would have gutted current Colorado state regulations and allowed states with the most lax conceal carry requirements to effectively set policy for the entire nation.

“We need our Senators to fight for Coloradoans—not against us—for laws that keep guns away from people with long criminal records,” said Tom Mauser.

The ad was paid for by the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence and can be viewed by clicking here.
